
The production of PDO Feta cheese is carried out after a series of quality controls.
At every stage of production, from milk collection, pasteurization, and cheese-making, to the maturing process in wooden barrels or tin cans, strict quality controls are being implemented, set out by quality standards.
In addition, PDO Feta cheese is produced exclusively using traditional production methods, while no pesticides, chemicals, or fertilizers are used in the breeding of the sheep and goats, so that the raw milk from these animals is safe and of high quality.
The Protected Designation of Origin ensures the protection of local agricultural and livestock products, as well as the traditional recipes of each region.
“Designation of origin” refers to the name that identifies a product:
